Biography
Elizabeth "Beth" Smith is an accomplished Graduate Medical Education leader with more than 23 years of experience managing residency and fellowship programs across multiple specialties. She currently serves as GME Coordinator II for Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Penn State Health’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where she oversees program operations, accreditation compliance, and trainee recruitment.
Nationally recognized with the 2024 GME Administrator Distinguished Service Award, Elizabeth is also Chair-Elect of the Association for Academic Pathology’s GME Administrators Section and will assume the Chair role in July 2026. She is known for her innovation in virtual recruitment, and her dedication to mentoring coordinators at both the institutional and national levels.
